Food and Beverages Served Aboard Bravura

Your adventure aboard Bravura is comprised of two parts.  The natural beauty of the BVI and our service.  A critical part of your experience is the food and beverages which are available to you while aboard.  No other day sail charter vessel in the BVI offers our wide range of menus and a no charge open bar.  Our staff will consult with you a day or two before your sail in order to insure that the meals and beverages we offer satisfy your needs.  If you have special dietary requirements such as vegetarian, gluten-free or kosher please let us know and we will prepare a meal to suit your needs.

Both our full day and half day features lunch served al fresco in Bravura's cockpit under her broad sunshade while anchored in a quiet cove.  In addition to the open bar you will have your choice of wines or champagne.  All of our lunches feature a starter course of appetizers, a salad course and an entree with side dishes. Our chef creates numerous dishes all with an individual flare.  What follows are just a few of our guests' favorites.   Hopefully, you will enjoy them too.

Island Chicken.....A plump breast of jerked chicken grilled or baked to perfection served on a bed of Jamaican rice.  It is topped with grilled pineapple and Major Grey's Chutney.  The spice of the jerk contrasts the sweet of the pineapple and the pungent tang of the chutney.  Served with green veggies and salad.

Lasagne di Napoli.....This is our classic Italian dish made from our grandmother's recipe from southern Italy.   Layers of imported Italian noodles, ricotta cheese, sauteed sausage, Italian herbs, and our home made ragu are served piping hot from the oven with a topping of provolone cheese.  Fresh green vegetables and garlic bread complement this dish.

Country Game Hens......Individual game hens are stuffed with a mixture of walnuts and chopped apple infused with a butter-mesquite-cinnamon sauce.  The hens are baked to a golden brown and a compote of apple and nuts dresses them.  Served with green vegetables and Jasmine rice.

Seafood Diablo....We take shrimp, scallops, calamari, and fresh fish and saute them in a light olive oil and butter melange with garlic and Italian herbs.  With whole ripe tomatoes we blend just the right combination of Italian spices and cayenne pepper to create a spicy but flavorful sauce.  To this we add the seafood and serve it over a bed of Linguine.  Topped with grated romano cheese the flavors are distinct yet full.  Served with side dishes of vegetables and garlic bread.

Seafarer's Lunch.... Consists of items which can be easily eaten while the boat is sailing.  Often, these are fresh deli-sandwiches with side dishes and fruit, or fresh oven baked pizza with green salad, or perhaps an array of deli meats, cheeses, veggies, sliced fruit with crackers or crusty bread.  Whatever the selection it will be tasty.

These are just a few of the entrees we serve aboard.  Because we live on an island not all choices are available at all times.  We will strive, however, to satisfy your requests. Come sail with us and enjoy a great meal too.
